April 28th, 2008: Pamela Anderson: Tommy Lee Is The Love Of My Life
News Updates icon
Pamela Anderson has spoken out about her brief, two-month marriage to Rick Salomon on CNN's 'Larry King Live', claiming that "it never happened" and declaring that former husband Tommy Lee is "the love of my life."

Discussing her relationships with the host on Friday night (April 25), Anderson said of her marriage to Salomon, "Oh jeez... It never happened... It was an - well, it was an annulment so..."

When King prompted her saying, "An annulment means it never happened?", the former 'Baywatch' star responded with, "Yes. It never happened."

Anderson was asked about her relationship with Lee, whom she was previously married to and has two children with.

"[We're] very good friends," she explains. "Very, very, very good friends. [He's the] Love of my life. He's the father of my kids. It's probably part of my problem."

Again, prompted to explain herself, Anderson says, "We're like a family, a bit of a dysfunctional family I guess. He loves his kids and we love each other." [Source]

April 28th, 2008: Motley Crue Get Cryptic About Tommy Lee's Band Status
News Updates icon
Remember how, back in September, there were all those news reports floating around the Web about outspoken, Kid Rock-hating Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, and how he had either resigned or been booted from the band? Yeah, well, so does Metal File.

At the time the news first broke — by way of a lawsuit the band had filed against its former manager, which stated, "Lee recently informed [bassist Nikki] Sixx and [guitarist Mick] Mars that he was resigning from the band, and his resignation was accepted" — the Crüe's representatives would neither confirm nor deny Lee's ouster. So ever since, like most of the band's fans, we'd simply assumed Lee was done with the Crüe — that, perhaps, spinning records as a celebrity DJ was more his speed.

Considering all this, Metal File must admit we were awfully confused by Lee's appearance with the band last week in Los Angeles, when the boys revealed their upcoming Crüe Fest tour, which makes its inaugural run this summer, starting July 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida. So when we had the opportunity to sit down with the band following the press conference, we just had to ask: What's the deal with Tommy?

Of course, the Crüe have been in the rock and roll game long enough (make that 27 years) to know how to dodge a few questions — which is precisely what they did.

"You know, it's so funny," started Sixx, whose side project Sixx:A.M. will also be on this summer's Crüe Fest. "[Saints of Los Angeles] is loosely based on the book 'The Dirt,' and originally, we were going to call it The Dirt. But this society, where it's at right now, is so ridiculous. It's all about gossip. Everything is gossip. It's demented to have people standing in line at the grocery store, reading something they know is a lie and buying it. And so, that's the thing with this band — we fit into that perfectly. Mick just told me a few minutes ago that he found out he's dead, on the Internet. That's the second time that's happened to him. I have one death, and he has two. I'm jealous."

April 28th, 2008: Ludacris And Tommy Lee Work On Greening The Homefront
News Updates icon
They’re about to go head-to-head in Planet Green’s new reality show Battleground Earth, but Tommy Lee and Ludacris aren’t waiting for the cameras to start rolling before reducing their own impact at home. In a recent interview with the New York Post, Ludacris said “I’m coming from a humble standpoint, so I want to teach other people and myself how to make a difference for generations to come, by helping to save planet Earth. Everything we do is geared towards trying to educate people that are watching, so that they can become even more eco-friendly.”

For his part, Ludacris used teleconference technology to audition for his last two movie roles in Fred Clause and RocknRolla, resulting in less fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. He’s also exploring the use solar panels on his 22-acre homestead in Atlanta to power up his 15,000 square foot house. That’s going to be one hell of an array! I’ll be shocked if it ever happens. 15,000 square feet!

Tommy Lee is just as thin on the green — but probably uses less energy overall than Ludacris thanks to motion-sensor lights throughout his home that automatically shut off. He also says he keeps lights on the “dim” side to conserve energy.

Obviously, we never expected these two to be the epitome of eco-friendly. Part of the appeal of watching a show like Battleground Earth will be to witness how these two learn from their experiences — and hopefully carry on that education beyond the 10-episode series. [Source]

April 28th, 2008: Caught on Campus
News Updates icon
Last Friday students found themselves in an impromptu TV shoot alongside the indelibly-marked Tommy Lee for the Discovery Network's upcoming show "Battleground Earth," set to premiere on the Green Channel in August.

Those eager to get their mugs on TV enthusiastically marched down Sproul Plaza behind Lee and his entourage chanting "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle." According to executive producer Leslie Greif, Lee was in town with rapper Ludicrous to rebuild De La Cruz Park in Oakland.

Being environmentally-friendly has never been so baller. [Source]

April 28th, 2008: Crue Fest Press Conference
News Updates icon
It was rock and roll old school. Tons of photographers lugging around their gear. Scantily-clad women in fishnet stockings and big boots. And once inside, the army of picture takers lined up on a platform that held each photographer’s company name on a sheet on the floor. Hundreds of fans milled about the Avalon Club in Hollywood. And only for Motley Crue could you find so much leather and metal studs.

The band held a press conference on April 15 (this is also income tax day for all Americans) to announce the inaugural Crue Fest, a 41-date tour that will take them across North America and Canada. Referring to it as The Loudest Show On Earth, the Motley Crue extravaganza for 2008 will also include platinum artists and Grammy nominees Buckcherry and Papa Roach, along with breakout artists Sixx: A.M. who recently had the Number One song in the US (“Life Is Beautiful”); and alternative rockers and platinum sellers, Trapt.

The band was smart in picking contemporary bands that might attract younger fans.

The traveling circus begins on July 1st in West Palm Beach, Florida and ends in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 31st.
